* wave version, drains mana from a distance in a wave form

* beam version, drains mana from a distance in a beam form (shown on picture)
* The attack shape depends on the monster. It may be a direct hit, beam, cone, wave, or area.

* Mana drain resistance reduces the amount of mana removed.
 
The blue-note effect shows that a drain occurred; it is not always an advance warning.
